Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has expressed his views on the current dynamics of modern relationships, emphasizing a critical issue that impacts many individuals.

He pointed out that the widespread tendency to be physically present yet mentally disengaged during social interactions is a key reason for the deterioration of relationships.

IK Ogbonna remarked that the overreliance on mobile phones has emerged as a significant barrier to healthy relationships.

He noted that at social events, parties, and even within close relationships, people frequently become preoccupied with their devices.

This, he asserted, results in a disconnect among individuals, ultimately harming the quality of their relationships.

He wrote on his Instagram story ;

“We have normalized being present but absent at hangouts, parties and even in relationships. O e person talks, the other person scrolls.”

“The second you pick the phone, you miss the moment. Your mind is in two places, but it’s your connection that suffers.”

”Friendships are failing. Relationships are dying. Work is losing focus. Choose connection over distractions. Drop the phones and be present”.

In other news, A lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, expressed concern that the attention of Nigerians has shifted towards 2Face’s marital issues rather than holding the government accountable for its actions.

2Face has been in the headlines recently after publicly acknowledging his relationship with Natasha Osawaru, the majority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly.

There are rumors suggesting that the couple is engaged and anticipating the arrival of their first child.

Reflecting on the ongoing situation, the lawyer voiced his apprehension on social media regarding how Nigerians have become preoccupied with “multiple dramas” at a time when there is a significant increase in data prices.

He tweeted,

“One week, multiple dramas. “Nigerian  celebrities are keeping us busy and distracted with their personal issues and controversial lives while the situation in the country is worsening. “MTN has diabolically increased the cost of data and there’s no sufficient outrage or protest from us (Nigerians).

“We are preoccupied with Tuface and his marital affairs.”
