Ufoma Babes chairman hails Sportsville Award organisers

Ufuoma Babes Football Club Chairman and Proprietor Elder Eddington Kuejibola has commended the organisers of the annual Sportsville Special Recognition Awards for nominating Davidson Owumi and Barr. Chris Green in the Achievers Category for this year’s ceremony.

Kuejibola, who was a recipient of the prestigious award in the 2024 edition, described the nominations as fitting recognition for hard work and outstanding contributions to football development in Nigeria.

“Honestly, these are well deserved honours for two great Nigerians who have done more than enough for the upliftment of the great game in Nigeria,” Kuejibola said.

“I want to commend Sportsville for appreciating and rewarding excellence in these exceptional administrators.”

Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Professional Football League, has been lauded for bringing stability and respect to the domestic competition. The former Rangers International striker has earned widespread admiration for his firmness and honesty in dealing with stakeholders.

Reacting to his nomination, the soft-spoken administrator fondly called ‘Okada’ during his playing days expressed gratitude for the recognition.

“I am excited to hear that one’s efforts are being recognised,” Owumi said. “This is a big honour to me and I appreciate Sportsville for this recognition.”

For Chris Green, the Sportsville Achievers Award adds another feather to his cap of honours in football administration.

“This recognition means a lot to me, not only because of my pedigree in sports administration, but because of the organisation it’s coming from,” Green stated.

“The quality and credibility of people behind this award is enough to celebrate.”

This year’s awards ceremony is scheduled for Friday, March 21, at the prestigious Eko Club in Surulere, Lagos, under the chairmanship of Arise TV anchor, Oseni Rufai.
