Nigeria, Belgium to Strengthen Economic Ties for Food Security – Edun 

Nigeria and Belgium have pledged to strengthen economic ties to enhance food security, Finance Minister Wale Edun said on Tuesday.

This was disclosed in a statement following a meeting between Mr. Edun and Belgian Ambassador Pieter Leenknegt, where they explored ways to foster cooperation in agriculture and food security.

“At the meeting, Mr. Edun highlighted Nigeria’s improving economy, declining inflation, price stability, and increased savings in the Federation Account.

“He also emphasized the government’s continuous support for farmers through sustainable policies aimed at boosting agricultural productivity,” the statement read.

Mr. Edun reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to key macroeconomic reforms to drive economic growth.

On his part, Mr. Leenknegt expressed Belgium’s interest in deepening economic relations with Nigeria for mutual benefit.

“This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and Belgium. The two countries will continue to explore opportunities for cooperation,” the Belgian ambassador stated.
