Make Ondo South-West investment hub, ex-lawmaker tells Aiyedatiwa
A former Majority Leader at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olumide Araoyinbo, has urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to make the state an investment hub in the southwest region.
The immediate past president of the Ondo State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, said this while congratulating Aiyedatiwa on his inauguration as the seventh democratically elected governor of the state.
Araoyinbo in a Wednesday statement, described Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration as a new era for the people of Ondo, adding that the governor had proven he was prepared to transform the state and usher in a new era of prosperity.
While urging the governor to put in place strong policies that would ensure a robust economic relationship with his counterparts in the southwest, Araoyinbo said he remained convinced that Aiyedatiwa would lay a strong foundation for future governors to build on at the end of his stewardship.
He said, “As you embark on this new journey of leadership, I wish you wisdom, strength, and success in your resolve to deliver good governance and development to the people of our dear state.
“I urge you to use your wealth of experience to serve the good people of the state and turn it into the new hub of investments in the southwest region, just as I am doubly sure that all business groups in the state are prepared to key into the economic opportunities that your administration would be creating.
“As you continue in the task of building a state that we would all be proud of, we join all your well-wishers to wish you resounding success in the new journey to build a prosperous state.
“I say a big congratulations to you and your team. The people of the state look forward to the strengthening of the partnership between your administration and all stakeholders for the collective benefit of our people.”
The PUNCH reports that Aiyedatiwa was sworn in on Monday commencing his first full four-year term following the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in December 2023.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital, two months after Aiyedatiwa won the governorship election under the banner of the All Progressives Congress.
