Nigerians were deeply moved by Dayo Amusa’s story about her journey with fertility and how she overcame her struggles.

The actress and singer, who is now a mother, is sharing her painful and emotional experience leading up to motherhood.

In her New Year post, the new mother shared that she nearly lost her uterus due to a tumor and was diagnosed with uterine myxomatosis in 2015. She also mentioned how her ex-partner got another woman pregnant and left her.

The 41-year-old revealed to Nigerians on her colleague Debby Sokoya’s podcast that there was a time when she asked God to take her life if she couldn’t have a child, as she was feeling exhausted.

Amusa described how she sang at the top of her lungs, asking God to either fulfill His promise of a child or end her life. She also noted that she became frustrated with the prayers from her friends and family, occasionally blaming them for her struggles.
