Tinubu: Ramadan a Season to Seek Allah’s Guidance

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world as they begin the 2025 Ramadan fasting season, calling for reflection, devotion, and acts of compassion during the holy month.

In a statement on Sunday, the President expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to witness another Ramadan, describing it as a period of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and strengthened faith.

“Ramadan is a time for deep reflection, renewed devotion to Allah, and acts of compassion and generosity toward humanity,” President Tinubu said. “It is a season of spiritual rejuvenation, self-discipline, and empathy for the less fortunate.”

He urged Muslims to uphold piety, humility, and selflessness, emphasizing the need to strengthen bonds with Allah and foster unity and peace in communities.

The President noted that this year’s Ramadan coincides with a period of economic recovery in Nigeria, citing efforts to stabilize the economy and improve citizens’ welfare.

“Our administration’s bold and transformative policies are beginning to yield positive results, as evidenced by the gradual stabilisation of our economy. The Gross Domestic Product for the last quarter of 2024 showed a marked improvement over the same period in 2023,” he stated.

He said food prices, which had recently risen, were now declining, providing relief to fasting Muslims and all citizens. He also pointed to a stabilizing exchange rate and falling fuel prices as signs of economic progress.

With the wet season approaching, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to improving agricultural productivity through mechanization, input support, and innovative farming techniques.

“We are determined to enhance food production and ensure self-sufficiency for all Nigerians. Our resolve to build a resilient and prosperous nation remains unwavering,” he assured.

The President called on Nigerians to unite in prayer and action for national development.

“Let us fervently seek Allah’s guidance and protection for our nation, and let our words and deeds reflect our shared commitment to peace, unity, and progress,” he urged.

He concluded by extending his best wishes to Muslims for a peaceful and fulfilling Ramadan.

“May the blessings of this holy month illuminate our hearts and homes, and may we emerge from it as better individuals and a stronger nation. Ramadan Kareem!” he said.
