It’s no surprise that Burna Boy is currently trending on social media thanks to Sophia Egbueje, a socialite who leaked voice notes saying the musician promised her a Lamborghini truck but didn’t deliver.
On February 27, 2025, a 40-minute leaked audio clip of Sophia detailing her problems to a friend sparked outrage. She states that in 2024, her friend Ama Reginald and Burna Boy collaborator King Manny urged her to meet the singer.
Sophia was initially hesitant, but was persuaded by Burna Boy’s reputation for generosity, which included gifting his ex-girlfriend Stefflon Don a Rolls Royce Cullinan worth over $500,000.
Sophia claimed that Burna Boy made her multiple promises, including buying her a Lamborghini, but then abandoned her and failed to keep them.
Burna Boy appeared to reply to the charges on Friday, February 28, when he posted a video of himself wearing a luxury watch while driving his Ferrari and later a private jet.
He then posted a video of himself freestyling. He sung the following song: “I no buy Lambo, is that why you are shouting?”
The Grammy Award-winning singer’s relationship with Chloe Bailey appears to be in jeopardy, as a simple check of her Instagram page reveals that she no longer follows her man on the platform.
