JUSUN shelves strike

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria has disclosed that it has suspended its proposed strike following an intervention by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

JUSUN had on February 12 issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government after an emergency meeting held in Abuja.

The union demanded the implementation of the new national minimum wage and other benefits, threatening an indefinite strike if their demands were not met.

However, following the intervention of the CJN during a meeting held with representatives of the federal courts, the Federal Capital Territory High Court, judicial bodies, and the national leadership of JUSUN at the union’s headquarters in Abuja, the strike was suspended.
