All is Not Well in Northern Nigeria—Emir of Zazzau

The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has identified a lack of unity as a key factor contributing to the challenges facing the country today.  

Speaking during an Iftar gathering with District Heads from the Zazzau Emirate, the Emir expressed concern over growing divisions within society, warning that disunity could have dire consequences for future generations.

“All we are saying is we should come together, unite ourselves, we should forgive each other. If we have offended anyone, then we are sorry,” he stated.

He emphasized that unity is the only path to safeguarding the well-being of the people, cautioning that continued disunity would leave a troubling legacy for the next generation.

“It’s only through unity that we can save the people of this town. So long as we remain divided, we will be leaving an unfortunate situation for those coming after us,” he warned.

The Emir lamented how old friends and acquaintances have become distant, saying, “It’s unfortunate that people you grew up with have drifted apart. You don’t see them, and you don’t even care to find out about them.”

He also stressed that the issue is not confined to the Zazzau Emirate alone but affects the entire Northern region.

“All is not well in the entire Northern Nigeria. This is not limited to Zaria, Kaduna State, or the Northwest— the entire region is struggling,” he noted.

The Iftar gathering was attended by all District Heads of the Emirate, as well as the Secretary to the State Government, who represented the Governor.
