Jigawa: Bride Found Dead with Throat Slashed in Hadejia

A 22-year-old newlywed woman, Zainab Ibrahim, was found dead in her home in Warware Quarters, Hadejia, with a deep cut on her throat, just five weeks after her wedding. 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident happened on the afternoon of March 13.

A resident, who requested anonymity, said neighbors raised the alarm after finding Zainab in a pool of blood.

“She was found unconscious with a deep wound on her throat. People immediately alerted the police,” the source said.

Another resident said security operatives arrived quickly and took her to the General Hospital, Hadejia, where doctors pronounced her dead.

Police in Jigawa State confirmed the incident, saying an investigation was ongoing.

“We are treating this as a case of homicide, and efforts are being intensified to track down the perpetrators,” a police source said.
