Security First: Bakori Outlines Agenda as Kano’s New Police Commissioner

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the assumption of duty by CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, as the 47th Commissioner of Police in the state.  

His appointment comes following the promotion of his predecessor to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, CP Bakori reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening security measures in Kano.

He emphasized community involvement as a key strategy in crime prevention and urged residents to collaborate with law enforcement by providing timely and useful information.

The statement further called on the public to support the new Commissioner in his mission to enhance security and maintain law and order across the state.

CP Bakori brings nearly three decades of experience to his new role. Born on February 6, 1969, in Katsina Local Government Area of Katsina State, he joined the Nigeria Police Force on August 15, 1996, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Academically, he holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Additionally, he earned a Master’s degree in Peace, Conflict, and Strategic Studies from Kaduna State University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Abuja.
